Thank
you Hoiyin for your note below.
It was
good that I could talk with your mom first then you today for about 1 1/2 hrs.
I was
touched by your mom's love for you and I admire her for the determination to
work closely with you in whatever way she could to help you. I also appreciate
your willingness to let me pray for you and in fact, I pray daily for Sam
and regularly for your well being.
I am so
glad to learn that you are now receiving professional helps from both
psychologist and psychiatrist. It is imperative for you to take medication
and follow doctor's order & advice closely and proactively.
This is
my first time to hear personally from you of your self-understanding, the
realization of the need for professional and medical assistance and taking
medication regularly.
You
have earned my respect for your readiness to face many challenges with
determination to get well from the years-long accumulative and harmful impact
on you. I am glad that you not only realized the seriousness of your condition,
you are owning up to past failures and ready to rectify whatever
needs to be done.
In my
opinion, it is critically important for your well being to receive
positive and constructive assistance from your family first then friends.
Please let them form a strong long-term support system for you.
Since
you are in Hong Kong and being geographically close to your family, you should
have open and healthy pattern of communication with your parents
and brother. I plead that you would be receptive to professional helpers and
your loved ones alike. I am sure that in due time you will recover, being
helpful to all those around you; instead of being harmful/hurtful.
Mama is
in China for 2 weeks and I did not accompany her as originally
planned due to my health situation. Sam is here to keep me company and for that
I am grateful. I will report to him our conversation in a day or two, when the
moment is right.
Appreciate
the information re: your Easter break and your offer to help. During this season of
Easter, I wish you the new beginning in life that's marked by hope.
Due to
my limitation typing Chinese, kindly help your parents understand the intent
and content of this message by translating for them: either verbally or in
written form. I thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

Hi
Papa,
Thank
you for calling as soon as you get better. I hope you get the rest you need to
recover strongly and steadily in the coming weeks.
Thank
you for talking to me also. I am very grateful for your advice and your
help.
Sam's
support has always stayed with me while I work through hectic work situations,
medication and other learnings. I think about him everyday and about how he
tried to help me before. It is in thinking that I need to get better, be
independent and be a support and comfort to Sam (if ever possible again) that I
keep on working through the disorder and through life.
I am
not sure if Sam is receptive to hearing from me. If he is not stable, then I
don't want to pressure him into thinking about the past or into talking to me
right away.
I am
going to have a Easter break from 3/29 (Fri) to 4/7 (Sun). I will keep your
advice in mind and will be continuing to work with my family on getting back to
emotional health. Please know that I will be free to provide any support you
think would be appropriate from my end. Just give me a call and let me know.
Please
send my regards to mama. Hope she is feeling better also. I am unspeakably
sorry for all the woes I have caused Sam, Mama and you.
Take
care,
Hoiyin
